Trying to learn form video, books, or self-taught is like trying to learn to become a surgeon by taking a home study course. It takes many years of devotion to become a qualified martial arts instructor. Only study under an instructor will give you the skills you want. It takes proper instruction, effort, regular training, and much time. There are no short cuts.

Forget about all them. OK, so you can never become a master of the internet, but you can pick up a lot of techniques. If you have a partner, it is a lot easier, but trust me, I taught myself how to fight off TV, the internet, and just trying random moves I thought up, and tried out to see if they worked, and I swear to God, I’ve never lost a fight. I’ve also never had some real competition though as I never went pro, but I might soon. Hope it Helps!

If you really don’t want to take the necessary training, I’d recommend reading books on the subject, watching as many MMA fights as possible, working out a lot, get a lot of cardio exercise for endurance, and the bottom line is nothing teaches you like experience. Get a sparring buddy and grapple and fight.

It’s impossible to teach yourself because part of learning is getting feedback. No recorded source will be able to do this for you.
On top of that, anything you learn will be untested because I’m guessing that you don’t have a partner training with you. Even if you do have someone who will spend time drilling moves, you are limited to what you find online, so you and your friend would fighting with the exact same skill set.
You will not get the insight you would from a proper teacher or a sparring partner with more experience or a slightly different style.
Join up at a proper club if you are truly wishing to learn, otherwise you are more than likely just fooling yourself.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!! YOU CAN NOT LEARN MARTIAL ARTS BY BOOK, VIDEO, ON-LINE, OSMOSIS, MAGIC, DAY DREAMING, TEACHING YOURSELF, ETC. You are going to have to learn from a qualified instructor! I have said it a thousand (and now 1,001) times…the student who tries to teach himself has a fool for a teacher, and even BIGGER fool for a student!!!!!

There’s only one fighter that I can think of has done that, the late Evan Tanner, who learned by watching DVDs.
The reason he learned was because he was a natural athlete, and had exceptional ability to learn.

IDK how can you teach yourself. You are qualified to teach apparently, since yyou want to teach yourself.
Go to a gym, you can’t learn on your own.

try books, there are tons and tons of books on the subject. However, you will need someone to train with…especially for grappling.
